WBYC COMMODORE’S WEBSITE LETTER

The Wantagh Bay Yacht Club is a group of people that enjoy socializing and having fun all over Long Island, Our Bridge officers and Board of Director guide our club each year, we have elections every two years to ensure membership participation. We are a non profit organization and are now in our 21 st year and will continue to strive to best serve our members and our community.

Some of our clubs highlights are:

• Annual Spring Brunch to start our season, and get to know new members each year.
• Blessing of our fleet and have a Grand Memorial Day get together at our club center and grounds
• Community service to help keep our waterways clean and safe for all through the “Adopt a Park” Program our club started years ago.
• Raft-ups at many of Long Islands south shore coves and bays.
• Dock Parties
• Annual trips to Fire Island and beyond, Club Land East End trip.
• Dingy and Holiday parties.

All to have fun and socialize, our clubs dues help subsidize some of our functions. Our club members enjoy discounts at various local merchants. View our Club Calendar and come to one of our next meetings and talk to some of the members, they will be very happy to talk about the fine things we do. To join this club our membership requirements are minimal and low cost.

Our goals are simple:

• Grow Club Membership.
• Expand member involvement.
• Conduct seminars to educate members.
• Club cruises and socializing.
• Work to preserve our bays and estuaries.
• Cooperate and work with all government agencies and officials to meet these preservation goals.
